A Mindful Society is an annual forum to explore the application of mindfulness in life.

A Mindful Society began in 2014 as a conference where academics and industry professionals shared ideas that cultivate compassion and community through contemplative practices.

Today, the conference is a knowledge-exchange hub – a premiere resource for mindfulness integration across the fields of education, healthcare, technology and more. A Mindful Society has grown to become the Canadian gateway into the national and international community fostering mindfulness in all sectors of society.

The format showcases important ideas and emerging trends in the field, and offers interactive opportunities for participants to explore, connect and inspire ideas to action.

Our Vision

To connect professionals in education, healthcare, workplace, law, technology and life with leading thinkers, current research and mindfulness-based programs to stimulate further education and integration of mindfulness in all sectors of society.

The Conference

A transformative event connecting professionals in education, healthcare, law, technology, workplace and life with leading thinkers, current research and mindfulness-based programs.

A Mindful Society aims to engage further education and integration of mindfulness in all sectors of Canadian society and a leading hub for people and professionals to connect with the research and practices of leading mindfulness-based programs. Each conference hosts a new theme that is influenced by the current challenges associated with mindfulness practice and in bringing mindfulness into healthcare, education, the workplace and law enforcement. This theme forms the selection criteria for conference events, workshops, speakers and more.

Location & Event

Hosted at University of Toronto the conference takes place across the beautiful campus in downtown Toronto – each day is filled with workshops, speakers, lounges to connect with community and more.

Participant have shared in feedback that the conference is a transformative and inspiring experience where people connect with leading speakers, contemplative practices and programs, and a like-minded community of people practicing mindfulness. Each conference provides the opportunity to interact with attendees, discuss and collaborate on current challenges and connect with leaders in mindfulness and compassion research and application.

Cultivating Community

Partner organizations and sponsors which represent the growth of the mindfulness field are an essential part of the conference. By creating a platform to connect with thousands of people interested in mindfulness we help build communities of practice and professional application.

A Mindful Society is based in Toronto, Canada. Our intention is to further advance the field of mindfulness and support the development of communities connected to the conference. Our goal is to become a sustainable hub that can support the accessibility of contemplative practice throughout society.
