Spreading the Word: Bringing Mindfulness to New Audiences

Mindful magazine and mindful.org has been working for the past 5 years to bring mindfulness to a broader audience, in plain language, and in a way that engages a mainstream audience while also maintaining integrity. What have we learned? What are we still learning about?Learning objectives:
• Understand the needs of people coming to mindfulness today for the first time
• Identify effective ways to communicate with them about mindfulness
• Clarify what the pitfalls and traps are in communicating about mind training
• Decide what kind of ethical commitment is involved in communicating about mindfulness to a broader world
