Andrea Blackler
Committee Member of Mindful Moments, University of Toronto

Andrea Blackler is a member of the organizing committee that started “Mindful Moments” for students at the University of Toronto in 2014. This program offers drop-in meditation on campus every weekday between September and April. As well, she has recently helped launch a pilot program of weekly drop-in mindfulness meditation for faculty and staff (in coordination with the Sustainability Office and the Organizational Development and Learning Centre at the University of Toronto).

Andrea is a member of the Post-Secondary Committee for Discover Mindfulness and is a student in the Applied Mindfulness Meditation Program at the School of Continuing Education at the University of Toronto. She has taught in the Mindful Moments program, has facilitated a weekly Mindful Parenting group, and created and facilitated an 8-week “Mindfulness in the Workplace” program for staff at Hart House, University of Toronto where she currently works.

Andrea sat her first retreat 10 years ago in the Insight/Vipassana tradition which was a life-changing experience. Ever since then she has been passionate about bringing mindfulness into all aspects of society.
