Ani Jamyang Donma is a Staff Inter-Faith and Buddhist Chaplain at The Hospital for Sick Children. Her focus is to provide ongoing support to the Haem/Onc patient population and staff, as well as On-Call throughout the hospital as needed. She is also an active supporting participant in the PACT team here at HSC. An ordained nun, within the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition with over 20 years experience in Meditation, Buddhist Philosophy and Tibetan Yoga. Encouraged by CEO Dr. Mike Apkon, Ani J. currently leads a hospital wide initiative called The Mindfulness Project. This includes a dedicated website with resources for staff, an annual Mindfulness Week, a Mindfulness Thinktank, , twice weekly Meditation Sessions for Staff and Families here at HSC, where she teaches Tonlen, Mindfulness and Insight Meditation, as well a providing education via qualified facilitators with skills in applied Mindfulness in Healthcare . She is also a founding member of the Riwoche Tibetan Buddhist Temple in Toronto. She has studied and practiced with such Masters as His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Khenpo Sonam Tobgyal Rinpoche, Roshi Joan Halifax ,and Kyabgon Phakchok Rinpoche. She currently teaches annually at the Nine Yanas Program at Gomde Cooperstown in the USA.
