Donald Eckler


Donald Eckler is a senior teacher and meditation instructor in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition and has been a student of Chögyam Trungpa, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, and Pema Chödron, since the early 1970’s. For 37 years he was a teacher with the Toronto District School Board where he worked primarily with emotionally vulnerable children. He was responsible for designing and introducing the first class in the TDSB to integrate these sensitive, yet inherently good students into regular classrooms. Donald leads a weekly meditation class for staff at Ryerson University and has taught at the University of Toronto, the YMCA, Gilda’s Club of Toronto, Bereaved Families of Toronto, as well as a number of other venues. He feels very fortunate to have obtained a precious human birth!
