Gayle Saifert D.C.S., RSW is registered clinical social worker in private practice who has been working with adults, children, teens and families as an individual, family and group therapist for the past 22 years. Her clinical work has aimed to improve mood related issues such as anxiety and depression, and has been focused on individuals with learning disabilities, attention issues, and Aspergers, as well as the parenting struggles that are coupled with these difficulties.

Gayle currently works in private practice offering individual, family and group counseling with a specific interest in working with issues relating to emotional regulation, anxiety, and social difficulties. Treatment approaches are focused on improving the social and emotional health of clients with evidenced based approaches like CBT, Mindful Parenting and MBCT. Parent counseling includes skill-based strategies aimed to help parents become more attuned to their child’s needs, and help them improve the child’s ability to more effectively manage their mood. Facilitating Mindful Parenting groups is an integral part of her practice. In addition to counseling, Gayle provides consultations to schools and designs and delivers teacher and student workshops. Gayle has delivered workshops on managing moods, building social resilience; understanding learning issues and executive function issues, self-advocacy, Aspergers, as well as teaching group facilitation skills.

Gayle maintains a focus on mindful practices to manage stress and mood related issues, mindful parenting strategies, and mindful strategies to decrease bullying. Gayle has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from York University and a graduate degree from OISE’s Institute of Child Study at the University of Toronto. She is also a registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers. Active in her community, Gayle is a volunteer group leader for the Mindfulness & Families Group at the Centre of Gravity and is the founder of a charitable initiative that has raised money for The Hospital for Sick Children. Gayle is the mother of 3 children ages 19, 16, and 13.
