Lorraine McDonald
Vice Principal, TEAM School

Lorraine McDonald is the vice principal of TEAM School in Mississauga. Since starting at TEAM in 1999, she has taught a variety of grades and subjects. The opportunity to help students with diverse learning needs find their strengths and become more self-confident is what brings her to school every day. Introduced to the idea by a parent, Lorraine explored and investigated the possibility of using mindfulness to benefit students with a variety of learning needs and profiles during her graduate studies at Nipissing University. Subsequently, she worked with the principal to implement the MindUp curriculum at TEAM School. Outside of school, Lorraine continues to learn about mindfulness through personal practice and readings. She is currently working toward the completion of the Mindfulness Certificate program at the University of Toronto, School of Continuing Studies.
